CHARLESTON, S.C.—Freestanding bath manufacturer Victoria & Albert unveils its first new traditional bath in more than five years.
Taking a cue from classic Victorian style but adding modern panache, the York gives a traditional yet streamlined presence to bathrooms large and small.
Based on a timeless period design, at 68- by 31 ½-inches with a 73-gallon capacity, the York is ideal for long, relaxing soaks. Its pedestal base is skirted to the floor for a sleek look, while a center drain allows two to have a comfortable soak. It adapts to all faucets and retails for about $2,900.

“The York fills an important niche in our product line,” says Karl Schuele, U.S. sales and marketing manager for Victoria & Albert. “It was created in response to customer demand, and builds on our tradition of recreating authentic period baths using our trademarked high performance material. The pedestal base conceals the plumbing for an uncluttered elegance, while the tub features the classic proportions and detailing that consumers are requesting in today’s market.”
