Los Angeles, CA/positivePR – ONELOVEfor…Music announced today their Red Carpet event, “There is an Art to Change”, celebrating the United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace. The event is the only celebration of the Day of Peace (September 21) in Los Angeles that is officially recognized by the United Nations. “There is an Art to Change” will be held on September 26, 2009, 8:00 PM – 3:00 AM at BOXeight (1446 East Washington Blvd.), in Los Angeles.
The event will feature emerging artists and the local community coming together to unite in creating change in our world through collaboration and celebration of humanity and the arts. Sponsored by GenArt, Exposition Rehearsal, and iFANZ, “There is an Art to Change” has seven bands, several artists and independent films all scheduled to participate. A silent auction will be held, with 100% of the net proceeds from the evening being donated to Global Angels (www.globalangels.org)
“When I had the seed of this idea just about one year ago, I never dreamed it would grow into something so significant this quickly,” commented Lee Waterworth, the Founder of ONELOVEfor…Music. “It is thanks to the generosity and support of a handful of dedicated volunteers, Peace Partners and sponsors that this is possible.”
ONELOVEfor…Music is also driving a global campaign to raise awareness of the UN-Sanctioned International Day of Peace by enlisting radio stations around the world to play Bob Marley’s “One Love” at 9:21 AM and PM, local time on September 21, 2009. The group believes that by encouraging people everywhere to stop and think about peace and unity for just three minutes as they listen to Marley’s iconic song, a wave of consciousness will roll across the globe, helping the UN draw attention to their little-known International Day of Peace.
