Salt Lake City, UT Car Accident Victim Receives Full Settlement

PR Log (Press Release) – Aug 10, 2009 – Salt Lake City, UT – After a long legal battle, a Utah accident victim has received justice.  Barbara had sustained serious injuries in February of 2007 after she was rear ended in a Utah traffic accident.  The impact was at a low speed, causing less than $1,000 of property damage, but the results were extremely debilitating for Barbara’s physical health.  

“Barbara went in for an MRI, and the results were frightening,” said Kenneth Christensen, Barabara’s attorney.  “It revealed a C5-6 disc herniation that was impinging the spinal cord and causing pain in her neck, as well as pain and weakness in her left harm.”

The doctors initially tried to treat her injuries conservatively, but neck surgery was inevitable.  Barbara underwent general anesthesia and received a C5-6 anterior cervical diskectomy and fusion with a plate and screw fixation in October of 2007.  
   
Barbara’s recovery was tedious and painful.  Unable to run her photography business on her own, she was required to hire another employee.  Her accident injuries also forced her to terminate her contract with one of her largest clients.  Her mounting medical bills and substantial economic losses could have easily inundated her in debt.  However, after a long legal battle, Mr. Christensen was able to obtain a full and just settlement for Barbara.

“Barbara’s situation was tragic,” Mr. Christensen said.  “In cases like this, the insurance company often tries to deny the claim or offer a low settlement.  Fortunately, we were able to keep the insurance companies accountable.”
