Stripercoast Surfcasters Club members from many states along the east coast will gather in Montauk, NY on October 22 – October 25, 2009, for a long weekend of hardcore surfcasting, skishing, and informal competition. In pursuit of striped bass, club members will join together in the club’s second annual gathering at Montauk, a location many regard as the surfcasting capital of the world. Members will spend the long weekend of extreme surfcasting & skishing for striped bass. Potential new members of the club will also be interviewed for membership consideration.
Recently founded in 2008, Stripercoast Surfcasters Club is run as a non profit organization, and is geared toward the more hardcore and experienced striped bass surfcaster. With growing state chapters along the eastern seaboard, the Club has a strong focus on conservation, promotion of game fish status for striped bass, coastal access rights, participating in and hosting Catch & Release tournaments, and basically fishing their tails off as often as possible.
Membership is by invitation only, with annual membership dues. The club does not take the place of your local surfcasting club; you can still belong to your local club. Instead, as a National club, being a part of Stripercoast Surfcasters Club broadens your horizons beyond your own local scene, allowing you to branch out and giving you an edge when you travel beyond your home turf. It is not a club for beginners, or those who do not take surfcasting seriously. For members of Stripercoast, surfcasting is a way of life and a passion.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of this emerging force in the surfcasting community, is invited to join the group for the weekend to “test the waters” and see if you have what it takes to be a Stripercoast Surfcaster!
