Josh Lloyd is a new artist from Bristol who writes, performs and produces his own music. As well as recording his debut album he has also been working with established acts within the Bristol music scene, such as soul singer Lady Nade, and Folk star Katey Brooks. The song that Josh has submitted to the Mp3 Awards (which is judged by music industry experts including the chairman of the Performing Rights Society Ellis Rich) is called ‘Deep Down Inside’, and features powerful vocals from Katey Brooks.
Josh has recently come back to Bristol after going to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Prior to that Josh attended the City of Bristol College where he gained the highest ever score in the Music Technology course and was awarded a special Excellence and Citizenship certificate.
MP3 Music Awards
The Mp3 Music Awards –which is sponsored by major companies including Microsoft- is based in London, and is now in its third year running. By using the MMA website, artists were able to submit their best song to be judged. The tracks which were considered to be at the MMA standard were placed in the ‘Judge’s Jukebox’ for online viewers to play and vote for. Then, on the 5th of August the nominees were chosen and a new Jukebox containing the favourite remaining acts was made.
Josh is one of five artists that have made it through to the Best Unsigned Act category from all the thousands that originally entered and stands to win great prizes, including the chance of signing a recording contract with a top American producer/songwriter who has achieved two #1 singles and platinum record sells in the US!
