Schier has been experimenting with various formats in constructing the ideal grass roots display advertising and page driver site. Both inspired by and very critical of the pixel site explosion of the middle of the decade, he has tried various ways of combining the then novel idea of a grass roots, inexpensive new form of advertising with real staying power and added value. And of course the idea of a billion entries, which is very realistic considering that popular sites contain far more than that, will keep people coming back both to watch the progress of the site and to check out the information and real value that people post in their Bits."
The creator of ABillionBits.com knows that he will not reach his goal overnight, and explains: "Besides my obvious desire to make a lot of money by really providing a valuable service at a very low cost, having the goal of reaching a billion entries means that the site will stay dynamic and therefore popular for a few years while word spreads and we progress toward reaching our goal."
