Nestled approximately 30 metres from Dominical beach, this quaint little hotel and restaurant has a lot to offer.
Owned and operated by Michael (Dutch) and Vivian (Costa Rican), these two will go out of their way to assure your time spent in their establishment is thoroughly satisfactory. During your dining experience at Domilocos (http://www.domilocos.com) , Michael often does his nightly rounds to each diner to make sure everything is as expected. Michael appears to take great pride in the service and quality of the hotel and restaurant.
The menu at Domilocos is exceptionally diverse. There is a large selection of pastas, steaks, fresh fish and of course the most famous desserts in the Dominical area. Be sure to try the banana flambe for an amazing light show.
My most recent visit to the restaurant was this past Saturday. My family and I thought we would drop in for an early dinner.
As usual, Michael greeted us kindly as we approached the restaurant. We talked briefly about how the hotel renovations were coming and then we proceeded to be seated in Domilocos.
When we received our menus, we both realized that the menus had changed and some of our favorites were missing. "No problem", Michael said with a grin. "Anything you want, I will have the kitchen make it."
I ordered the shrimp in brandy sauce with sesame bread on the side. However when i was ordering it I felt that with it being an appetizer I may find myself still hungry. So I asked Michael if I could order a "meal size" of the normal appy order. Again no problems.
My wife ordered a fettucini in white wine pesto sauce. It had shrimp and mushrooms and also came with sesame bread. Both meals were superb and when Michael returned to our table after our meal, we both assured him we would be coming back again and more often.
In a community the size of Dominical, Costa Rica, you may not expect much in the way of high class dining but Domilocos breaks the mold and thinks outside the box with an incredible array of flavor packed dinners. So next time you visit Dominical beach...be sure to drop in to Domilocos for a dinner you wont soon forget.
