August 8, 2009 - New York City, NY -- The Atlanta benefit, revered as an industry first on the piloting Ultimate Dream Concert, released today that Dem Getaway Boyz will be performing on August 18 for the piloting live broadcast of 3G Live.TV's Ultimate Dream Concert channel (www.ultimatedreamconcert.com) . The group will be performing for the show which also features the Peoria-based hip hop phenom, 300.
Dem Get-A-Way Boyz have been in heavy rotation on Urban and Hip Hop radio stations across the country with their single “I’m a G” with a new CD rumored to hit retail in early fall, the group stated that "this would be a great opportunity for our fans to experience a live performance up close and personal."
This southern hip hop musical group discovered the news about Honesty Brennan - the first beneficiary and global honoree of the 3G College Fund -through an entertainment news site. An inquiry was made to Vanessa Carmack of Posh Platinum. After hearing about the cause, the group was compelled to lend their collective talents to the effort as a personal contribution to assist in raising the student from her mis-fortune.
Carmack mentioned in a recent interview, "I was so moved by their compassion. With such a hard exterior, it’s beautiful to watch these young people join together to aid one another."
Carmack continued, "Dem Getaway Boyz are an incredible group whose music has swarmed the market. We jumped at the chance to work together. When all of the industry personalities and individual airs are peeled back, this is the very essence of why we are in the business. Music creates uncharacteristic bonds in the most unimaginable places by making us feel. And this feeling will be illuminated across cellular phones, gaming systems, notebooks and computers across the world on August 18. It’s going to be amazing. “
The 3G College Fund Program is an independently managed program designed to assist college students who have been adversely affected by the recession and to insure the successful completion of their dream in obtaining a college degree.
The event will be hosted at the famed Crowe's Nest Mega-Plex - an Atlanta music industry staple, via a live broadcast exclusively over the Internet for the pilot of the Ultimate Dream Concert on 3G Live. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the 3G College Fund to insure that students achieve the dream.
