DataCentre Expo & Conference – One Event for Europe

Aug. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Dates have been announced for a major, pan-European event, scheduled  for May next year, showcasing the latest technologies and services available to datacentre professionals, seeking to enhance their performance and the efficiency of datacentres.

Scheduled to be held in Messe Dusseldorf,  DataCentre Expo will take place on May 18th and 19th, 2010 and will be the biggest gathering of datacentre professionals in Europe.

Eddie Milton, of organisers IM2, said “the purpose of the expo was to deliver a major, single European event that would bring together datacentre professionals, designers, vendors, channel, facility managers and other experts across the spectrum, to discuss and debate the future operation of datacentres."

He went on to say “attendees will learn from industry experts, best practice presentations and case studies in the conference and workshops." A major expo will allow all visitors to discuss issues and solutions with a wide range of exhibitors, offering products and services , regardless of whether they want to attend conference sessions or not.

All the key issues will be covered in an international standard conference, which will be free to attend to pre-registrants via the website. The event is aiming to showcase 150 companies, products and services and attract in excess of 6,000 visitors and delegates from across Europe.

Milton was also keen to point out that this event was designed to complement the more  geographically focused events, saying "IM2 (along with many companies) wanted to see one, annual event,  creating a focus for the European datacentre market, on a scale that no localised conference could possibly deliver.”

There is ever increasing pressure on enterprise, government  and third party data centres to operate more efficiently, on tightening budgets, whilst trying to drive down their carbon footprint; with power and cooling still presenting major headaches in the face of rising costs.
