Black has been named as one of Australia's top young entrepreneurs for the second year running in Australia's Anthill Magazine's "30 under 30" Awards. Black’s Dubai-based crane rental business, Auscor Cranes, continues to grow despite the construction slowdown in the U.A.E.
The company, which was born out of a construction startup venture, is now one of the UAE’s leading crane rental firms, with a fleet of 17 cranes, and revenues of $3.8m in 2008. Kane is leading an expansion into the Indian market with more than 30 cranes.
Of Dubai’s current economic downturn Black say’s “The woes affecting Dubai has attracted an endless stream of negative press, however, we are still managing to make money here”
Black say's "India is a natural fit in our growth plans, with a resilient economy, well developed financial markets and a pro-business government that is spending heavily in infrastructure and low cost housing" "now could not be a better time to enter the Indian equipment rental business"
