Jai Bhojpuri is a portal aimed at promoting the Bhojpuri language and the Bhojpuri culture. Bhojpuri is generally spoken in Bihar and eastern part of Uttar Pradesh and the region of north-western Jharkhand in India. However, there are countries outside the mainstream Indian states such as Nepal, Guyana, Suriname, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago and Mauritius that have populations speaking the language. When the British rulers of India took Bihari workers to work in the sugar plantation; the people of Bihar tool with them their culture and their heritage. It is through them that the language of Bhojpuri is still alive in cultures outside India.
Unfortunately, Bhojpuri has been in cultural decline in recent years. English has become the language of the people. But who can blame them, as English is an important language if one needs to succeed in this changing environment. However, we urge the people specially the people of Bihar not to forget this great language. Our aims and our portal (JaiBhojpuri)
Another misconception among many Indians is that Bhojpuri is the language of the poor, the deprived and the backward. The truth is far from it. Most Bihari professionals have Bhojpuri roots. Although Bhojpuri is spoken in eastern Bihar with Bhojpur district as the heart of Bhojpuri culture; Bhojpuri is synonymous with Bihar. Most Indians when they think of Bihar they think of Bhojpuri. Such is the strength of this language.
We have taken the step to popularise this language of Bihar to the rest of India. We bring to you the Bhojpuri language and hence the JaiBhojpuri portal. In the coming years we tend to go big. Our aims are to bring the Bhojpuri language and culture to every home and family of Bihar. Some of us might not feel comfortable with Bhojpuri and some may even be ashamed of it and prefer to stay with Hindi or English.
This is our humble attempt is to bring the language of Bihar to its glory, to its height when it was spoken by the kings of not only Bihar but India. We bring to you http://jaibhojpuri.blogspot.com as our attempt to popularize this great tongue from Bihar. Be part of this ancient culture; http://jaibhojpuri.blogspot.com.
We aim to provide to the world the history and culture of the “Bhojpuri”
Jai Bhojpuri. http://jaibhojpuri.blogspot.com
