Maryland and Delaware Car Dealer Thrilled about extended CARS Program

Additional two billion approved to back CARS program. Maryland dealership network sees opportunity to offer even more CARS rebates to loyal patrons, serving Maryland, Delaware and Virginia with record breaking deals on new and used cars and trucks.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 7, 2009 - The Car Allowance Rebate System is back to full speed as word was recently released from the government that the CARS program (previously cash for clunkers) had received an additional $2billion to continue awarding vouchers to those who qualify for this eco-friendly solution to our economic crisis.  Dealerships like Preston Automotive Group in Maryland are ready for continued sales under the program.

The Cars program was originally scheduled to last until November 1st or until the funds were exhausted.  This stimulus plan was short lived as the designated funds of one billion dollars soon ran out just several days after the launch of the program leaving dealerships skeptical about continuing to offer the CARS option to customers.

However, one dealership in Maryland continued to offer their loyal patrons the CARS rebate upon qualification, resulting in over 160 total sales since the beginning of the program.  Preston Automotive Group represents some of the industry’s leading manufacturers such as Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Hyundai, Nissan, Mazda, Suzuki and Chevrolet.

The large dealership network serving Maryland, Delaware and Virginia has taken full advantage of the program, dedicating countless hours and even an entire building reserved as their CARS information center.  David Wilson Sr., CEO of Preston Automotive Group, stated, “Thanks to great planning along with some risk we have managed to increase our sales many fold, giving us outstanding sales at the close of July and kicking off sales in August.”

The motion was passed by the House of Representatives on the 31st of July and later approved by the Senate last night with a 60-37 vote.  The initial budget of one billion had resulted in over 220,000 new car sales, and the additional two billion dollars is expected to last much longer as the initial surge of sales is over.

The additional government backing is enough support to encourage dealerships to continue the CARS option in their deals. Preston Automotive Group has yet to cease their operations and will not do so unless they are certain of the program’s termination.
