Ware Malcomb Designs Interior & Exterior Renovation for Contra Costa County Department
(August 2009) Pleasant Hill, California – Leading Design firm Ware Malcomb is proud to announce design and construction are complete for the renovation of Contra Costa County’s Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD). The project included 137,232 SF of renovations to three, three-story buildings located on a 9.5 acre master planned landscaped campus. The project is located at 300, 400 and 500 Ellinwood Way in Pleasant Hill, California.

Ware Malcomb worked extensively with 10 departments within the EHSD to create a comfortable environment for their constituents. Contemporary finishes were placed in common areas such as the entry, elevator lobbies and restrooms to put EHSD’s clients at ease.
Exterior building renovations included exterior façade additions and updated landscaping. Civil engineering design services included site/parking work, new delivery driveways, landscape planters, grading, drainage, and a topographic survey.
Building construction was completed in September 2008 and civil engineering services are still ongoing. The project was developed by DJM Capital Partners, Inc. of San Jose, California. The General Contractors were DPR Construction, Inc. (www.dprinc.com)
