Arrange a meeting with your ex at a pLace that you both usually visited. This sets the background of comfort as both of you are familiar with the place and have shared good time there. While in conversation with your ex try to pick up any unusual word or phrase that he or she uses. Then bring it into the conversation again and again so as to indicate that both of you have similar ways of talking. This is a subconscious way of striking similarities between the two of you. These similarities will tighten the knots of the relationship and make you ex feel closer to you. When you ex will relate him/herself with you then you stand a better chance of getting back with him or her.
The next step is very important and you have to makes sure that you look very casual while you do it. You may ask your ex for a casual drink with friends or to go bowling or any activity that the two of you used to enjoy doing together. This can be anything that friends and first dates do. Try to keep the activity fun and do not indulge in serious talks so soon. You will have a lot of time to talk about the serious stuff later. Also many guys are afraid of serious talks particularly in early stages of a relationship even if it is a revived relationship. You do not want to scare him or her away. But if your ex him/herself initiates the talk then follow the lead. Bu do not try to be to manipulative.
What ever you do, do not make you ex feel that you are trying to take away his or her freedom in any way. Give him or het due space and time to think. This step is important for a total commitment in a revived relationship. You may express you regret on how things did not work out the previous time. After establishing a comfortable talk, tell you ex how you feel about the whole situation. You may let him or her know that you are working on the thing that went wrong between the two of you and that he or she should also try to do the same. The matching of perspectives in this situation will help the relationship mature to a new level of understanding and trust.
