Let's explore the bay in a meaningful way
On 29 and 30 August, HANDSPAN conducts our annual trip - Ha Long Bay Clean up. The 2 days programme includes kayaking to pick up rubbish, visiting fishing villages and spend a night at our basecamp on a secluded island.
Many clients joined and agreed that it's one of the most meaningful of exploring the bay. This cleanup is essential to environment but also to educate the local people to take care of this area that will be a sustainable sources of income for them.
Sat, 29 Aug 09: Hanoi - Hai Phong - Cat Ba
AM: 6.00am - Depart Ha Noi by private van from Handspan's Sales Office (80 Ma May Street) on a 2-hour journey through the Red River Delta to Hai Phong for the Speed boat to Cat Ba Island. Transfer to a small boat for a cruise to a nice sheltered beach where you’ll check-in your bungalow, warm up with tidying up a beach nearby and lunch.
PM: The afternoon is devoted for kayaking, collecting garbage and cleaning up a beach. Dinner and overnight in simple cozy hut.
Sun, 30 Aug 09: Cat Ba - Ha Long - Hanoi
AM: A lot of time for swimming or enjoy the sunrise before breakfast. In the morning, we’ll collecting litters around floating villages in Ben Beo area.
PM: Lunch at the base camp and relax until 1h30 before taking the transfer boat back to Cat Ba Island for a ferry to Ha Long. Drive back to Ha Noi. Tour ends at 80 Ma May about 7.00pm
***Any clients who would like to stay in Halong City for overnight and take the boat trip the next day is welcome.
