Burnout: The mystery of Space Shuttle STS-281

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Aug 15, 2009 – Huntsville, AL  -- Best-selling author Stephanie Osborn will be appearing at the Huntsville Alabama Public Library, Main Branch, to discuss and sign copies of her five-star techno-thriller novel, Burnout: the mystery of Space Shuttle STS-281. She will be available for signing and questions starting at 2:00pm on Saturday, 22 August, and will discuss the relationship between her book and the real-life Shuttle Columbia disaster, which occurred with Osborn’s friend among the onboard crew. Copies of the book will be available.

Burnout is a fast-paced cliffhanger of a novel in the best tradition of Martin Caidin or Michael Crichton, about a fictional Space Shuttle disaster which turns out to be no accident.

As the principal investigators - "Crash" Murphy, former flight director and re-entry expert, and Dr. Michael C. Anders, astronomer - dig deeper, they discover the signs of something unusual - and as they do, friends, lovers, and colleagues involved in the investigation begin to die in mysterious “accidents.” They find themselves on the run, searching for answers, wondering who they can - and can’t - trust, in a game of cat and mouse that spans more than one continent, and may span more than one planet.

What happened to the Shuttle?

Who is responsible and why?

Why is the government calling it an accident?

Why is someone willing to kill to keep it a secret?

And just how big is the conspiracy?

The answers can be found in the pages of Burnout: The mystery of Space Shuttle STS-281.

Come and hear the inside story of the space program, and get a signed copy of Burnout!

"Ms. Osborn’s experience as a seasoned veteran of the space program, as well as her love for astronomy and geology, showed through clearly in numerous portions of this novel. I opened the cover of Burnout in the morning and couldn’t put it down! This intriguing maze of plot twists, danger, intrigue and excitement would make an excellent movie. Six stars to this outstanding new writer."
~Ann B. Keller, Author of Crenellations: A Collection of Poetry and Vortex of Revelation

"Burnout is a compelling, impossible to put down, first novel in the class of Skylark of Space or "Lifeline." ... It may perhaps be the most realistic view ever published in fiction about what happens behind the scenes at NASA."
~ Jim Woosley, Ph.D. physicist and Heinlein essayist
