The Event Industry Forum comprises trade associations primarily in the outdoor cultural, sporting, music and festivals events and is currently focused on developing updated Event Health & Safety guidelines, initiating an All Party Parliamentary Group for the Events Sector and evidencing concerns about the pressure on equipment resources for outdoor events as a result of the 2012 Olympics. The potential of increased incentive travel, brought about by the London Olympics. These results in additional trade and professional Event Associations are joining the Business Visits & Events Partnership to optimize strategies and policies that will improve business prospects. In 2008, over 400 organizers took part in the London 2012 Open Weekend.

The International Special Events Society represents special event planners and service and technical suppliers to festivals, events and trade shows that enables them to achieve low thresholds on business entertainment allowances and campaigning to promote the motivational and business value of live event based gatherings of staff, consumers and public particularly in challenging economic times.
Recently the Christian Churches Olympic and Paralympics charity “More than Gold” gathered in the British capital to plan for the event. Around 300 Christian Leaders from every denomination, as well as Christian agency and missionary organizations began the task of working together to mobilize volunteers, and organize prayer groups and cultural events in the lead up to and during the games. Local communities and voluntary organizations are putting on more than 40 events all over London to demonstrate their enthusiasm for London’s Bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The campaign was hugely successful and 37 organizations in 21 boroughs have now been awarded grants of up to £1,000 each to turn an Olympic Games themed idea into reality to show their support for the Bid.
