The Deskstar 7K2000 HDD has a 5 rotating platter design of Hitachi's own and uses PMR technology (perpendicular magnetic recording). The HDD is also quiet and power efficient so it can be buildt into Energy-Star rated computers. The power management technology utilized in the Deskstar 7K2000 includes Hitachi's own HiVERT(TM) or "Hitachi Voltage Efficiency Voltage Regulator".
The Deskstar 7K2000 HDD features a 32 Mb cache and uses the 3 Gb/s SATA interface and offers great usability in any system or raid configuration. Industry standard shock protection and TFC (thermal fly-height control) insures great reliability in the Deskstar 7K2000 HDD.
