BOX 'selected' to track rally entrants

Aug. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- The countdown has started to this year’s Sahara Rally, and taking part in the rally are Cambridgeshire-based telecommunications company Select Telecom, on behalf of a number of charities including La crèche de Tanger .  

The rally is an epic adventure from Cambridge, through France, Spain, Morocco, and the Western Sahara and back in 11 days. Taking in sights such as Fez, Tangier, Marrakech, through cedar forests, over the High Atlas Mountains and through Saharan sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, finishing in Tangier for a black tie rally party.

To provide ‘real-time’ updates on the whereabouts of the Select Telecom team, BOX telematics have fitted Select Telecom’s rally-spec Nissan Patrol with a BOX-tracker vehicle tracking solution which will provide live updates on their location and position within the rally. Daily updates will be provided by Star FM through their regular ‘Rally Update’ as well as the event being covered by Radio 2.

Select Telecom will be holding an Open Day at their offices on the 17th July 2009 to publicise the event as well as raising funds for their chosen charities. Guests will include the local Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, local business owners, the local media and Star FM.
