Business leaders from such diverse industries as healthcare and aviation came together in Dubai in June to understand how to better manage change during turbulent times. During a two-day training workshop presented by Innovation 360 Institute, attendees learned a five-step process for leading change, including how to create a clear and compelling vision of change, and how to inspire others to support the vision.
“I knew that communication is key to leading people,” said Dr. Manal Saleh Alhoshan Alomar, who attended the workshop. “Now I know what to communicate and when. This course demonstrated the importance of having a clear vision for the future before rolling out organizational changes.”
Workshop participants also learned how to motivate and manage team members, and how to overcome resistance to change, skills that participant Mohammed Almurry believes will make a difference in his job as an application engineer at Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies. “These are core competences for leadership and change agents,” Almurry said.
Innovation 360 CEO Kamal Hassan believes that the ability to lead change has become one of the most important qualities leaders must have to be successful. “With all the uncertainty that organizations face these days, knowing how to lead change is a crucial skill for every business leader,” said Hassan. “This is especially true in the UAE, where the economic crisis has led to many unprecedented challenges.”
Innovation 360 offers in-house change management courses for organizations throughout the Gulf region. In addition, change management is a key component of their new executive workshop and advisory program, Leading Business Transformation, which begins in October.
