“In this new era, the question to ask is who is benefitting more from your job – you or your employer,” asks author R.C. Rice. “My new book is to empower people, especially fellow college students, to take action in their career to improve their lives.”
Rice had actually been writing the book for years in pieces, but getting in trouble at her job for reading inspired her to focus on completing the book and launching her own business.
“I was making more in my part time business than I was in the corporate world,” she admits. “That’s when I really decided it was time to take action and become an entrepreneur.”
Rice quickly came to a realization that being an entrepreneur was a lot of work. However staying in an unfulfilling job was not smart.
“Today change is a little more difficult with record unemployment and the job market shifting to the benefit of the employers,” she said. “It will make it worse on exploited employees who have to accept more work and less pay just to keep their jobs. The key is action – always keep your head up and keep looking for that next better opportunity.”
Included in the book are businesses that entrepreneurial readers can start with little or no money. Also included are interviews with Dave Novak, Steve Hobbs, and Ray West, three entrepreneurs who share their secrets of business and success.
Rice’s book “Confessions of a Corporate Whore” will be available on August 10 at online booksellers such as Amazon and her website www.confessionsofacorporatewhore.com. The first two chapters are also available for a preview download at her site. The book will retail for $12.00.
When not having a critical eye on corporate America, Rice is completing her studies in Communications at Georgia State University and enjoys entrepreneurship and filmmaking.
