Roland Martin Moderates MED Week Atlanta Inaugural Business Summit

Mr. Roland Martin served as moderator for the MED Week Atlanta Inaugural Business Summit.  The panel included Susan Story, President and CEO of Gulf Power, a Southern Company, Joe Anderson, Chairman and CEO of TAG Holdings, LLC, Dr. Danny D. Boston, Professor of Economics in the School of Economics of the Georgia Tech Institute of Technology, Jimmy Bridgeman, Acting Regional Administrator, GSA Southeast and Rafael Maldonado, Global Relationship Manager, United Community Bank.

The discussion topic for the panel was "Energizing the American Economy with Minority Business Enterprises."  The panel provided insight as to how minority businesses will be one of the primary catalysts for the recovery of the US economy.  According the panelists, statistics prove that small business, the category that most minority businesses are a part of employ more people than large businesses, they experience job growth in far greater percentages compared to large businesses.  Further, small and minority businesses tend to be the barometers of economic health of the country.

Milton Kirby, President of Allied Logistics, Inc. - Atlanta, GA said all of the panelists are distinguished in there own right.  They agreed and had similar thoughts on several of the discussion points and offered insightful tips and strategies to help minority businesses grow and prosper.  Each of the panelists provided several nuggets of information that we will be able to implement immediately in our business.
