REV. IKE MAKES TRANSITION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York, NY
Wednesday, July 29, 2009
The world mourns the loss of Rev. Frederick J. Eikerenkoetter II, better known to millions of members, visitors and radio listeners as “Rev. Ike,” — The Success and Prosperity Preacher. The Right Rev. Eikerenkoetter has been Minister, Teacher, Motivator, Evangelist, Counselor, Pastor, and Philanthropist to millions of people for more than 50 years. His Science of Living Ministry, which began with a few devoted followers and grew to ministries around the world, dared to go where most theologians, Bible teachers, and preachers would not. As an evangelist, on TV, radio, mass meetings, seminars and even as a magazine publisher, he preached “Prosperity NOW!” — long before it became popular to do so. He served in various churches in his illustrious career before founding and building his mega-ministry, which has included churches in Boston, New York, and South Carolina, as well as the Business of Living and Science of Living Institutes in Manhattan. Rev. Ike also ministered to millions through a longstanding radio and TV presence and a thriving direct mail Ministry.
Born in Ridgeland, South Carolina in 1935, Rev. Ike was a mentor and teacher to many of today’s most revered ministers and thinkers, including Bishop E. Bernard Jordan, author of the NY Times bestseller “LAWS OF THINKING.” Inspired by Rev. Ike, Bishop Jordan has built his own Zoe Ministries, where he is founder and senior pastor. Bishop Jordan offers “I only wish that the world could have gotten to know the real person. I got to know him as a spiritual father, a man who loved God and a teacher who was about empowering mankind and would only give wisdom to those willing to listen.” He continues, with much respect, that Rev. Ike was “a great spiritual leader in our generation who has left big shoes for all of us to try to fill.”
Details of the tribute for Rev. Ike and his public memorial service, which will take place at The Palace Cathedral, 175th & Broadway, in New York’s Washington Heights community, will be forthcoming.
Further details for the tribute ceremony, as well as a statement from Rev. Ike’s family will be made available on the Ministry’s website. (www.revike.org)
