partnered with local a Atlanta church Northeast Baptist Church off Chamblee Tucker Road to
implement two new health and nutritional programs.
" I got the idea from a client in my boot camp who was unable to participate in my early morning class because of his commitment and involvement with his church. Our primary goal and focus is to help as many people as possible while keeping the costs low. So I began making phone calls to local churches to see if it was part of their vision to implement a health and wellness program and provide it to their church, staff and even others outside the church in the surrounding communities."
It couldn't have come at a better time as Pastor Brian Wright had previously been involved with a camp knew the benefits and the results that can happen within the group training atmosphere. Pastor Brian spoke with Associate Pastor Amy Moore and the two agreed it could be a great benefit and added service to everyone.
"We're looking to create win win situations for everyone." Says Manento. "In fact, we don't even want to charge the church a single penny, the program is Done For You, so no extra work is required on their end and we want to keep the costs as low as possible for those who participate."
The total cost for the 1 month of the training program is $99. Which is well below the normal rates ($250) for Hotlanta Bodies Fit Camp. This is a fraction of the cost compared to average personal training rates this rate is a bit more budget friendly during a struggling economy.
All fitness levels are welcome and can participate in the fitness boot camp and or the seniors program. "We've had seriously a wide range of people come to the camp and it's worked out well. There was a 9yr old who participated since school was this week and an 85 yr old who plans to continue with the program. This program is literally great for any and everyone", says Manento.
Just because the term exercise boot camp is mentioned. Manento does not want you to get it confused with any other fitness boot camp in Atlanta nor the ones you see on TV. This is no military boot camp. Nor is there a Jillian Michaels. Manento states, "Really you can call it what it is, which is an outdoor/indoor group fitness training program."
The protocol of the classes are based on a Japanese Interval Training system called Tabatas. The main focus of the Tabatas training system is to focus on shorter bursts from 10-60 seconds followed by a brief rest or transition. This is the same system that features the popular 4min workout. Both classes also feature music created by workoutmuse that literally tell the person when to start, how long they have left and when to rest/transition to the next exercise.
"I've been training and competing pretty much all my life and I've yet to find a better way to get the most out of my workouts than by using the Tabtata protocol and workoutmuse,"
The primary goal for the boot camp class is rapid fat loss or altering body composition. While the primary goal for the seniors is to improve bone density, strength, flexibility, as well as being able to function properly through daily activities while decreasing the risk of injury. Both classes do have nutritional coaching. And will focus on improving the cardiovascular and muscle endurance as well as living a healthy lifestyle.
Both programs are open to the public and those in surrounding Atlanta communities. The classes will begin August 10th and go continuously in 4 week.
