Aug. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Cross Plains, WI -- Innovation Technologies recently announced it is working with new and existing customers to improve hotel telephone security.

Recently, hotel security has come under close scrutiny by many media outlets. For example, on July 16th, the NBC Today Show reported about a recent surge in unwanted phone calls to hotel guests. In some cases, individuals are compromising security by calling guest rooms and portraying themselves as hotel staff.

Hotel security is certainly no small matter. For this reason, Innovation partnered with TelNet Corporation to deploy “transfer security” in 1998.  “Transfer security” is a built-in option for the auto attendant feature on Innovation’s InnLine family of voicemail products. When a guest or outside caller using Innovation’s auto-attendant requests transfer to a guest room, they are required to enter the first 3 digits of the guest’s last name in order to complete the transfer.  This step effectively prevents unwanted callers from connecting to the guest, protecting their privacy and improving security.

As a leading Innovation distributor, TelNet Corporation is at the forefront of delivering this feature to hoteliers. “Guests expect privacy and this feature goes a long way to achieve that” says TelNet President Russell Mccomb. To take advantage of “transfer security”, hotels simply need to install an Innovation voice mail system and have a property management system that delivers the guest name. All current Innovation products ship with auto attendant including “transfer security” as a default feature. In addition, most Innovation voicemail systems shipped with “transfer security” installed. Therefore, existing Innovation Voicemail users can take advantage of the feature simply by enabling it.
