FREE FAMILY EVENT: The 8th Annual Mile Hi Dare to Fly Takes Off!

Amazingly realistic radio control aircraft will fill the sky on September 12, 2009 at the Miniature Aero Sportsters Club near Barr Lake.

Aug. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Some of Colorado’s best R/C Pilots will entertain hundreds of spectators as planes perform skillful and daring aerobatic maneuvers.  This family-friendly event will feature Radio Control Model Aircraft of all types and sizes and will include aerobatic demonstrations, competitive events among participating pilots, free flying lessons, prizes and refreshments. The event is open to the public, and admission and parking are free. Food will be available for purchase.

Flying Field Directions: Miniature Aero Sportsters Club Airfield near Barr Lake. The flying site is located in unincorporated Adams County, north east of DIA. To get there, take Tower Road north to 120th. Go east on 120th past Hayesmount Road. Continue east on 120th and go about a mile. On your left will be gated road that leads over a small hill. This is the entrance to our flying site. If you’re on 120th and you go over a bridge crossing Box Elder Creek, you’ve gone too far. The actual address of the field is 31801 E. 120th Ave.
About beneficiary: UCP Colorado a 63 year old non-profit organization which serves nearly 29,000 Colorado children, adults and families through early education, employment and family support services.  Located in Lowry, the 61,000+ square foot building houses UCP launched Vanguard Classical School, Employment Works, the Kyle E. Fisher Early Childhood Development Center and UCP Colorado's umbrella of Statewide Family Support Services.
