RALEIGH, NC—518 West Italian Café will conduct its first “Fresh Italian” recipe contest this month. Contestants will submit original Italian recipes for judging through email. Recipes will then be posted on the restaurant’s social media outlets throughout the month of August.
The winning dish will be featured as a special menu item during the month of September. The winner will also earn a $100 gift card from the restaurant and a chance to cook their dish in the 518 kitchen with executive chef Blaine Nierman.
“We expect to give special consideration to those recipes that make the best use of fresh, quality meats, produce and pasta; those are the same types of ingredients we use here at the restaurant,”
The restaurant is known for its dishes inspired by the flavors of Italy and the Mediterranean including their seasonal pastas, wood fired pizzas, fresh seafood, and steaks.
The recipe contest begins on August 3, 2009 and it will end on August 28, 2009. Entrants may submit their original recipes to 518west@518west.com. All recipes must be entered by August 28 and should include the entrant’s name and contact information.
