Giving Back Feels GREAT
Riverview Park partners with the Central Wisconsin Community Action Council’s food pantry this August to collect much-needed food for local residents. According to national statistics, 1 in 8 Americans are hungry. Many believe hunger is confined to small pockets of society, certain areas of the country, or certain neighborhoods, but the reality is much different. Right now, millions of Americans are struggling with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who can’t make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals. “Most people have no idea that their neighbor is hungry. We’re doing this to help get the word out while having fun on a beautiful summer day,” Shawna White, General Manager of Riverview Park & Waterworld.
People who bring in food items to Riverview Park and Waterworld on August 11 and August 15 will be given $2.00 off the All Day Unlimited Pass, $1.00 off Kid's Unlimited Pass, and $1.00 off the Night Pass. There is one discount per person, and the discount is not valid with the toddler pass, water only, rides only, or other discounts. The Community Action Council was founded in 1966. Since their first donation of a bushel of apples and box if cereal, nearly 10,000 pounds of food are distributed to Wisconsin’s hungry each month. Join us on August 11 and 15 to support this wonderful organization by bringing in a donation for the local food pantry.
