The 2009 'North of the Wall' Prize Finalist Exhibition opened on 18th July 2009 and will run until 15th August 2009. This major new competition has prize money of £6,000, and is open to all art forms.
This is the inaugural year of the North of the Wall Annual Art Prize, which is an exciting new initiative aimed at stimulating the creative arts in general, as well as promoting the work of disabled artists.
The prize money on offer this year totals £6,000, including £3,000 for the overall winner, three runners up prizes of £500 and £1,500 for the winner of the disabled artist category.
The exhibition is being held in Tynemouth in the North East of England and has attracted over 1,000 visitors in the first week. There are 30 finalist entries covering a wide spectrum of styles and subjects. All the finalists and other commended entries can be seen at http://www.northofthewall.co.uk.
