The event took place at the Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, Johannesburg on Sunday 26 July.
Approximately forty Accsys employees and their families joined throngs of expected participants, including 702 presenters, to complete their course of choice on the day.
Walkers could select from a number of course distances including five, eight, fifteen and thirty kilometers.
Proceeds from this year’s Walk the Talk will go directly towards the benefit of the event’s official charity, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which uses sport as a platform to initiate positive social change.
Discovery is the founder member of the South African arm of the Foundation.
Teryl Schroenn, CEO at Accsys, says the day was a great success and is proud of staff for continuing to demonstrate why the company is a force to be reckoned with in HR, payroll, access control, time & attendance and people management – both inside- and outside the workplace.
“Our company has a proud track record of support for community-based charities, including initiatives such as the Cell C Bring a Girl Child to Work Day for example. We are taking this a step further by organising an Accsys Bring a Boy Child to Work Day. This is our 4th Walk the Talk and we have also participated in the JP Morgan race and have contributed towards the realisation of the Nelson Mandela Day,” she says.
