Accsys staff help pave the way for enhanced CSI

Staff at Accsys, a national supplier of payroll, HR, Time & Attendance and Access Control solutions, have stepped up to the line and gone the extra mile in support of the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk fund raising event.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 04, 2009 -
The event took place at the Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, Johannesburg on Sunday 26 July.

Approximately forty Accsys employees and their families joined throngs of expected participants, including 702 presenters, to complete their course of choice on the day.

Walkers could select from a number of course distances including five, eight, fifteen and thirty kilometers.

Proceeds from this year’s Walk the Talk will go directly towards the benefit of the event’s official charity, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which uses sport as a platform to initiate positive social change.

Discovery is the founder member of the South African arm of the Foundation.

Teryl Schroenn, CEO at Accsys, says the day was a great success and is proud of staff for continuing to demonstrate why the company is a force to be reckoned with in HR, payroll, access control, time & attendance and people management – both inside- and outside the workplace.

“Our company has a proud track record of support for community-based charities, including initiatives such as the Cell C Bring a Girl Child to Work Day for example. We are taking  this a step further by organising an Accsys Bring a Boy Child to Work Day. This is our 4th Walk the Talk and we have also participated in the JP Morgan race and have contributed towards the realisation of the Nelson Mandela Day,” she says.

“Essentially we believe that the future of South Africa, and certainly in terms of the development of its socio-economic framework, lies in the hands of emerging communities and the youth. Corporate South Africa must take a stand as far as contribution is concerned and it is through partnership with organisers of –community-based events that real impact is made and progress achieved,” adds Schroenn.
