jml Insurance are pleased to announce that they have just been made introducer agents for International Passenger Protection (IPP) product “Protectmyholiday.com”
Protectmyholiday.com is the first website of its kind to allow consumers to buy financial failure protection insurance for component parts of their holiday booked in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.
Apart from covering scheduled airlines in case the company goes out of business as Zoom did in 2008 or the car ferry company Speedferries their policy which costs £5 per person for 30 day protection covers, Hotels, Villas abroad & cottages in the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.
Philip Suter of jml Property Service that runs eight self catering holiday home websites said ”We have been running jmlvillas.com / euro-rentavilla.com and our other self catering accommodation sites since 2001. A question that many people are concerned about is what happens if the villa owner goes out of business. The IPP policy is a very low cost way of having peace of mind whilst you arrange your self catering holiday, including the flight and car ferry.”
The Governments ATOL scheme covers holidays booked with a tour operator where a flight plus at least one other component part of the holiday are booked at the same time, however this leaves a massive gap in consumer protection for independent travellers, flight only bookings, business trips and people visiting relatives.
IPP was formed in May 1990 by its founder and Managing Director, Brian McLean, who had previously 25 years experience in the travel industry. IPP is a family run business with his son Paul Mclean with 14 years previous experience in the Insurance industry.
