Aug. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- FreeServerStatus.Com has launched a free website monitoring service. Webmasters can monitor up to 100 websites per account with each monitor being capable of a monitoring interval ranging from 5 minutes to 1 hour.

Website monitoring service provided by http://SysOjo.com is an extremely important aspect of any website. It checks a given website at regular intervals specified by the webmaster and alerts the website support personnel or the webmaster if the website is inaccessible so that corrective action can be taken quickly, minimizing the website down time.

Having a website available at all times is extremely important. Visitors move on quickly to competitor's website if they are unable to access the website. Even loyal visitors get frustrated and eventually stop using a website if it is frequently inaccessible. Moreover, search engine rankings may go down if the website is down frequently and the results in search engines may even disappear completely if the website is not available for longer periods.

FreeServerStatus.Com provides a very easy and intuitive interface to add website monitors. After creating an account, a webmaster has to just add the URL to be monitored. Usually the URL is the website home page, however any other URL works equally well. Then, depending on the website importance or load, the URL can be selected to be monitored at time intervals ranging from 5 minutes to 1 hour. Webadmins can also select which and how many alerts to be sent for each event.

Another great tool provided is the stats page showing current website status along with daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and all time website uptime statistics. The uptime stats page can be made public also with the click of the mouse. This allows the webmaster or other concerned personnel to check the website status without actually logging into the account. The stats page also shows the minimum, maximum and average page response times and provides links to the logs pertaining to the maximum and minimum page response times.

Since FreeServerStatus.Com allows any URL to be monitored, server admins can monitor non-HTTP services easily by creating a webpage that returns appropriate HTTP code depending on the service availability. This allows any or all services on any server to be monitored remotely at no cost.

Each time a website is checked, a log is created and saved in the database for account holder's reference. Logs are retained for a month. In the event a website goes down, webmasters can look into the logs to see when and what status code was returned by their web server. Though this information is sent in the alerts also, it is specific to that very check. Logs allow all checks to be analyzed in case deeper debugging is required.
