New York Law Firm Cellino and Barnes and Derek Roy for JDRF
In collaboration with Derek Roy of the Buffalo Sabres, Cellino and Barnes raised $28,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Cellino and Barnes donated to the foundation to aid their research to find a cure for juvenile (Type 1) diabetes.
Cellino and Barnes, a New York law firm focusing on personal injury law, decided to give to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) because of their commitment to diabetes research. JDRF is the leading researcher for a type 1 diabetes cure in the world, and the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.
The fundraiser, which continued through the 2008-2009 hockey season, raised $ 1,000 for each goal scored by Buffalo Sabres’ player Derek Roy. Over the season, Roy scored 28 goals. Both the Rochester Chapter and the West New York Chapter of JDRF received checks from Cellino and Barnes.
