Spring Arbor University (SAU) is implementing an economic stimulus for some of its incoming students. It is introducing the Ignite Scholarship, which will provide discounted tuition rates for 13 of its degree completion and graduate programs. This scholarship is available to new students who enroll at SAU sites throughout Michigan and Ohio beginning in Fall 2009.
“In these challenging economic times in Michigan, SAU wants to continue to play a vital role in partnering with the communities we serve,” says Matthew Osborne, vice president for enrollment management. “The federal government is not the only proponent trying to bring about an upswing in our nation’s financial picture. At SAU, we strongly believe a more highly educated workforce can lead to a better future for our graduates and for the regions in which they live.”
Qualified programs include the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in Business programs; bachelor’s programs in business, Christian ministry leadership, family life education, management and organizational development, nursing (RN to BSN), social work and teacher education; and master’s programs in counseling, education, family studies and organizational development.
This scholarship program is not tied to any federal government program.
“The Ignite Scholarship is an expression of SAU’s commitment to help those who have been most negatively impacted by the economic downturn and to better position them for the recovery that is to come,” says Osborne.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must apply two weeks prior to the start of the program. For more details about the Ignite Scholarship, contact a local SAU admissions specialist, or visit www.arbor.edu/
