The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship crowned its first teen national titleholder Miss Black Maryland U.S.A., Jasmine Alexis, as Miss Black U.S.A. Talented Teen 2009. The pageant was held at the John Addison Concert Hall in Fort Washington Maryland.
Miss Alexis is an exceptional dancer who has just graduated from Keystone National High School, and is heading to Concordia University in New York this fall to begin her studies in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Miss Alexis is also no stranger to pageants having already held the titles Miss Teen District of Columbia USA 2007 and Miss District of Columbia’s Outstanding Teen 2008 in the Miss America system. Alexis finished in the top 10 in the 2008 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen national competition.
The four-hour event featured15 contestants Rozan Latham –(Arizona)
All contestants competed in four areas of competition Fitness Attire, Talent, Evening Gown and Onstage Question and Answer.

The Miss Black U.S.A. and Miss Black U.S.A. Talented Teen pageants were founded by Karen Arrington in 1986. The Miss Black U.S.A. Pageant and Scholarship Foundation is committed to increasing
awareness of Heart Disease and Obesity. By forging relationships with organizations committed to research and education, such as The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s “The Heart Truth,” campaign the
“50 Million Pound Challenge.”
