Pure+Motive has acquired exclusive rights to “Dancing Carl,” a film based on the book of the same name, written by three-time Newbery Award-winner Gary Paulsen. Pure+Motive plans to release the full-length, feature film in late 2010.

Set in the winter of 1955 in the quaint little town of McKinley, “Dancing Carl” tells the story of two young boys, Marsh and Willie, and their unlikely friendship with a local veteran, Carl, who tends the neighborhood ice rink. “Dancing Carl” is a family oriented drama/comedy about growing up, growing old and ultimately finding love and acceptance in an ever-changing world. “Dancing Carl” is being released by Pure+Motive and is slated to hit theaters during the 2010 holiday season.
“Dancing Carl” will be written and directed by “April Showers” creator Andrew Robinson and produced by Jenna Edwards.
