Safe and Sound
All our toys meet and exceed all British and European standards for toy safety, and we're delighted with our ongoing association with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, who work with us in the development of our toys.
We test our toys just like your kids do.
We push them down the stairs, throw them, jump on them, knock them over, poke fingers in them and even lick them. So we know our toys are as tough as the children that play with them.
Our Early Learning Centre Stores
Early Learning Centre opened its first store in the mid 1970s and now we have 215 stores across the UK . And when you visit one of our stores, you can take our toys out the box and play with them, so you can choose the exact toy your child likes to play with best.
Every Tuesday morning, we devote time to our playtime sessions, where your children can join in some real hands-on fun. There are new toys to play with lots of competitions and activities. And if you need some help choosing toys, just ask our friendly staff for advice – and look out for great gift ideas and playing tips in store too.
You'll also find Early Learning Centre toys in concessions in certain Debenhams stores, Sainsbury's supermarkets and Boots the Chemist.
Early Learning Centre also has over 80 international stores in 19 countries across the world.
Recycling toys
From 1st July 2007 manufacturers and retailers have to fund the collection and recycling of waste electronic equipment – including electronic toys.
Early Learning Centre has joined a scheme (the Distributor Take back Scheme) which funds a network of collection services around the UK.
As an Early Learning Customer you can take old electronic toys to one of the many collection centres that have been set up. For advice on all aspects of recycling, including recycling of waste electronic toys, please visit www.recycle-
