Simply because, like many others, you've got bulging rolls of fat at your waist, and they are not easy to hide.
Don't feel too bad, millions of people deal with dreaded "love handles". Though there are clothes that can fit you well without showing love handles, you still can't help feeling shy and uncomfortable about them. If you feel envious of people who can wear fitted clothes, then it's time to lose those thick (or even thin) love handles - starting now.
Yes, there is something you can do to lose them. And no, don't think of liposuction unless you are loaded and have a high tolerance for pain. There are more simple solutions to the problem. I repeat, SIMPLE, not easy. One way to start losing love handles is by looking at your diet, the second is exercise and the third is discipline. These three go together. Lacking just one can even make a difference.
A diet can either make or break you. So make sure it's a healthy one, no starving required, no fasting needed. The more hungry you make yourself the more you'll crave for anything and want to goggle down when you finally do eat. Drink plenty of water, at least eight glasses a day. As a natural cleanser, it rids you of impurities and helps burn calories.
Eliminate stored toxins by eating organic fruits and vegetables. These should be eaten in between the three main meals of the day. Red meat is fine every once in a while but use chicken breast and fish as substitutes to your everyday meals where possible. Chicken is high in protein while fish is rich in essential fatty acids which help repair skin tissue and regulate the body's fat metabolism. Grilled or steamed is better than fried, slicing the fat off the meat is also simple and effective. Avoid caffeine which can be found in colas, coffee and tea. Too much consumption of caffeine and sugar can cause poor blood circulation which may lead to buildup of toxins in the body. Switch to whole grain bread and fiber rich foods to flush out waste products from the intestinal tract. Let me remind you that gluttony is one of the capital sins of developing love handles. So eat when you are only hungry, but eat often. Craving for snacks? Eat nuts or seeds for a change as these also have essential fatty acids and antioxidants. Also, do not eat more than you can shed off but do not starve - starving is a surefire way to get nowhere.
Weight building and cardiovascular exercises definitely help in losing those fat rolls. Too busy? A once-a-week yoga, jogging, treadmill or other exercise class can make you slim down in general. Brisk walking for an hour before you go to work or after is enough to make your blood circulate properly. A person with proper blood circulation loses weight faster than a person who is lethargic. You can't trim your midsection alone. You still have to perform exercises for the whole body and then concentrate on the midsection - like doing a variety of abdominal exercises with twists. If you think you are wasting your time on weight lifting, think again. The body needs toning to remove the bulges and light weight lifting can certainly do the trick. Remember, the more muscles, the better. It'll be hard for fat to accumulate if you are building muscle.
