The Board of Certification for Professional Organizers (BCPO®) is proud to announce that four United States’ Certified Professional Organizers will participate in the Professional Organiser Association of Africa (POAA) Conference in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa, August 28-29, 2009.
“The BCPO® has worked diligently in the past several years to build relationships with international professional organizers, so we’re pleased that four talented, industry leading U.S. CPO®’s will share their insight with the POAA conference attendees,” says Karon Van Vuuren, CPO® and Vice President of the BCPO®, the self-governing, independent certifying body formed to recognize and raise industry standards, practices and ethics through independent certification. Van Vuuren, who will moderate the panel discussion (below), is owner of Kapela Solutions in Houston, Texas, and is originally from South Africa.
Barry Izsak, CPO®, and Past President of NAPO, will present the opening keynote address at the conference, speaking on “The State Of The Professional Organising Industry: Ensuring survival through tough times.” The address will feature the history of the organizing profession around the world, the state of the industry today and what challenges the future holds. Izsak’s Austin, Texas-based company is Arranging It AllÔ.
Accompanying Izsak at the POAA conference will be:
• Julie Hibbs, CPO®, and owner of Squared Away in Houston, Texas, who will present a general session called Analysing Your Business, designed to present techniques to better manage and run a professional organizing business.
• Joan Kuenhold CPO®, whose Creative Office Solutions is headquartered in Bristol, Wisconsin, who along with Izsak and Hibbs will share their experiences as organizers and highlight international organizing trends, methodology and insight in a Q&A panel session. Van Vuuren will moderate the panel titled Organising Outside Our Borders.
