TakeMyLead provides a professional and fully insured Dog Walking Service within the Harpenden, St Albans, Wheathampstead, Redbourn and Sandridge area of Hertfordshire. Dogs are collected and returned to your home address following a long countryside or woodland walk, actual walks last at least one hour (not including transportation time) and your dog will return dry and well exercised both mentally and physically.
Dogs are transported in our large fan cooled Renault Van which contains super strong custom built aluminium cages with non slip rubber matting, individual crates contain a non spill water bowl for each dog. Onboard dog shower and solar powered fans. Fresh water is supplied after each walk and clean towels for wet walks or post swimming sessions are provided.
Walks are carried out within safe areas of the local countryside, away from roads where the dogs can experience supervised socialising, practice basic obedience, play and take pleasure in sniffing and exploring the environment.
All dogs are worked at a pace that suits them on and off the lead and are reinforced positively with favourite treats. No ball games are used as a form of exercise and toys are discouraged with the exception of them being a reward.
Dogs are very social creatures and benefit both physically from the exercise and mentally from training and supervised socialising.
Current trends of busy lifestyles can leave our beloved, loyal pet with less human and canine contact. A recent survey carried out by CEVA Animal Health, manufacturer of D.A.P.® for dogs has revealed that 94 per cent of veterinary professionals believe that owners’ lifestyles are the major cause of the rise in behavioural issues.
