Once they were separate - there were office phone systems which tied staff to their desks. Then along came cordless phones. That was followed by the ability to connect to the office PBX by broadband, great for home workers, explained Dan Renwick of telecoms.co.uk.
Now Renwick sees that workers want the same facilities on their mobiles and the company now supplies systems which have mobile extension capability.
