The Detangling Hairdresser Service, Tangled Hair Techs announced today the launch of their “Tangled Hair Masters Contest” through YouTube. The contest will educate, enlighten and encourage people to demonstrate the value of the de-tangling process and saving severely matted and tangled hair.
Beginning August 1, 2009, anyone can enter. They can submit as many videos as needed to complete a successful removal of tangled and matted hair. YouTube allows each video to be up to ten minutes in length.
During the 45-day contest, judges will choose one grand prize winner to receive $2000 and one finalist winner to receive $200. At the end of the contest, judges will select the top 10 videos with the highest YouTube views for the grand prize voting. The public will vote via views through YouTube.
The videos, which can be made by most computers, cell phones or video recorders, should be creative: they can be funny, serious, talking about and showing the process of completely un-tangling a head of very tangled and matted hair.
“This contest is going to be a lot of fun for both the entrants and for us”, according to Sheila Smith, lead educator for Tangled Hair Techs. “We know the detangling process can be very tedious, but it is so worth the time and patience when you see a woman who has lost hope-smile again. Most hair stylists do not want to be bothered or get very scared. They immediately want to CUT a clients hair when they see that it is severely matted or tangled. “
