Scattered Light Publications announces a new title: Memento Mori.
Author Cheryl Snell’s sixth book of poetry, with paintings by Janet Snell, inaugurates Scattered Light's series by marginalized women writers.
'Memento mori' describes what is worth remembering, from a cache of fireflies to wet afternoons spent with a beloved to the long goodbye of an aging parent.
“Memento mori is a particularly apt title for this collection of poems and paintings by the sisters Snell,” says critic Grady Harp. “... Part of the joy of the collaboration of the two artists is that they resist the temptation to 'illustrate' each other... And as the book flows - a feast for the eye and a recalled pleasure of reading memorable poetry. An Excellent book, this!”
Cheryl Snell, a three time Pushcart nominee, has been published widely in print and online. In addition to her collections of poetry, she has authored two novels and a volume of short stories. Janet Snell graduated magna cum laud from MICA where she studied with the late Edward Dugmore. She has shown her work in museums and galleries across the globe, and is the author of several books of art and words. Most recently, she and her sister won the Lopside Press Chapbook Competition, now included in Scattered Light’s catalogue.
The book is 6”x 9”, 48 pages, full color, perfect bound
