July 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Cardion, Inc., a health care provider solutions company,  will soon offer customized Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software solutions to physicians, clinics, hospitals and other health care providers designed for the office, clinic or hospital’s unique needs.

Said Cardion president, Scheri Couch, “We are very pleased to be able to provide customized EMR solutions to health care providers.  No cookie-cutter approach here.  Each software package will be specifically developed for each physician.”

Physicians can choose from an area of suites built from a basic program that is a fully integrated EMR practice management and interoperability solution that centralizes clinical, financial and administrative tasks in one database.  The system improves quality of care, increases efficiency and most physicians experience a definite increase in revenue.  Additional add ons include an exchange program that allows sharing information with other healthcare providers electronically securely and efficiently.

Other modules available include a patient interface whereby patients can go securely online to set up appointments, assess symptoms and request prescription refills.  This provides a cost savings to the practice by reducing workload for office staff of answering phones and returning messages.

Another module allows a physician to stay in constant touch by access office records via I-Phones, Blackberries and other PDA devices.  Modules exists as well for research oriented practices and for revenue cycle management.

Ms. Couch  went on to say, “This is the time for physicians to obtain EMR for their offices because of some incredible government incentives.”

The U. S. Congress has declared that physicians who use electronic medical records are eligible for up to $44,000 in incentive payments, which will be delivered over a four or five-year period as of 2011. Early birds who begin using EMR by December 31, 2010 or 2011 are eligible for an $18,000 first-year payment, followed by $12,000, $8,000, $4,000 and $2,000 in subsequent years. If practices begin use by December 31, 2012, payments in years 2-5 are the same, but their first-year payment is reduced to $15,000.

Cardion is also working on a program to provide no-interest financing to physician practices for one year following the purchase of an EMR software package.
