FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul 29, 2009 -
Lindsay Gaskins, President and CEO of Marbles: The Brain Store, opened her first store on Grand Avenue in downtown Chicago on October 15th, 2008. Customers looking to stay sharp immediately loved the idea of a store filled with products to stimulate and strengthen the brain, all reviewed by brain health experts.

Gaskins and team constantly received positive feedback, such as the following:
“This place is like nostalgia and a hopeful future rolled into one! While you might find a toy store that features ONE game that enriches the mind . . . this is a store featuring nothing but thought provoking and memory-enhancing games designed to stimulate the mind. Hence the "Brain Store" part of their business name.” –Aaron S., Yelp Review

The store has become so popular that Gaskins opened another Marbles store in Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center on June 17th, 2009 and will celebrate the Grand Opening of a third store in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago on Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 from 5:30-7:30pm.

Marbles offers more than 250 products, including word puzzles, brain teasers, educational games, and brain-fitness software, that enhance memory, critical thinking, coordination, visual perception, and word skills. There are products for everyone at Marbles from fun games perfect for the developing brains of children to brain-stimulating and social games for young adults to large print crosswords and brain-training software designed to help adults stay sharp.

The inspiration for such a unique and innovative store came from her own life, says Gaskins. “My parents are nearing 70 and dementia and Alzheimer’s are things they worry about. I discovered that there are products out there that can help, but there wasn’t a place that brought these products together. I also learned that brain games were not only important for my parents but for me, too.”

While some might shy away from retail expansion in the current economy, Gaskins has found products particularly appeal to job seekers and those looking to keep their edge at work.  She sees that Marbles fills the needs of customers interested in the brain and thinks that this gives Marbles staying power.
