The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is a consumer watchdog agency that watches and monitors not only business practices on all areas of commerce in the U.S. and Canada, but also gives such businesses a rating based on their performance and customer reports.
Company representatives comment that becoming an accredited business in the travel industry “is not particularly easy, and has some rigorous steps a business must go through and successfully achieve prior to membership.”
Usually anyone in the travel industry in the U.S. and Canada is highly scrutinizes as it is considered a high-risk industry. Businesses must apply 18-24 months prior to accreditation being granted and once its granted, must adhere to a code of conduct by the BBB.
