Transoft Solutions Introduces SIGMA

Transoft Solutions Launches New Software for Traffic Sign Plans
By: Transoft Solutions

July 29, 2009 - PRLog -- Transoft Solutions, developers of industry leading software for the global engineering and architectural communities, announces the launch of SIGMA, a new traffic sign planning software solution. SIGMA has been developed for Traffic Engineers and Maintenance Engineers to design, maintain, and report, on CAD generated traffic signing as well as temporary traffic control signing plans through supported sign libraries.

“SIGMA is set to revolutionize the manner in which traffic engineers and maintenance operations design and manage roadway traffic signing plans,” said Michael Frost, Product Manager. “This software delivers what is needed in the AEC industry right now – a productivity enhancing, practical solution that provides substantial value.”

SIGMA gives users the ability to easily search Federal / State Standard sign libraries, GuidSIGN signs, or user-defined simple CAD drafted cell / block drawings to create placeable sign assemblies. Users can search the SIGMA sign libraries without having to know the sign’s reference number and create sign assemblies quickly and easily. Through the Create Sign Assembly tool, users can create a sign assembly that supports typical mounting types and options, multiple sign facings, as well as assembly status by using included typical sign arrangements or by dynamic arrangement.

The placement process allows the user to drag the assembly parallel to either a reference line / stationing alignment, or offset reference geometry (edge of pavement), or enter a specific distance / station. The wizard-like placement process is a set of specific steps that allows the user to proceed or go back steps to make adjustments as needed. Once a sign is placed, the Report Manager allows the user to define and save customized reports in .CSV format for importation into the user’s preferred spreadsheet application.

SIGMA comes with one library of choice at time of purchase. To provide users with maximum value and minimum costs, additional libraries are available for purchase separately so that engineers have what is needed without paying for libraries that are not required. Currently, there are 5300 US signs available in 11 libraries with 5000 signs – including signs for Canada and Australia – to be released in the near future.
