The update provides an improved UI for tracking and managing a large numbers of shared files, enhanced file management and version control, an increase in the number of files that can be uploaded at one time to 50, and a bump in the maximum uploaded file size to 100 MB.
The collaboration tool, launched in late 2008, is unique in how it allows people to use their established communication channels to manage projects and tasks, share files, track activity, and collaborate in secure, private workspaces.
WizeHive’s Twitter interface and email integration allows users to easily populate and manage notes, tasks, or files in workspaces using every-day communication tools. Direct messages sent to WizeHive through Twitter instantly update workspaces with the new information. Workspace collaborators receive email notification of content that’s been share, and without having to log-in to WizeHive, can reply to the message with comments or other pieces of data.
Other improvements in this release include an embedded image viewer, streamlined collaborative editing of documents and spreadsheets, the ability to easily move and rename documents, and enhanced list functionality for grouping and sorting tasks.
“Improving the flow of communication and work process is what brought me into this business so I’m pleased to be continually releasing new features to help our users manage their work in an even simpler and quicker way,” said Michael Levinson, co-founder of WizeHive.
Additional resources for high-performance users are available with WizeHive’s widget add-ons, called WizeApps. Options such as data fields allow users to create custom databases along with a custom form for each workspace. There are currently seven WizeApps and more will be released shortly.
