SYLVANIA, Ohio -- Ice Industries, a leading metal stamping, welding and assembly company, announced that it has achieved TS 16949 certification for its Ice Mexico facility located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Ice also holds TS 16949 for both its Deerfield Manufacturing plant located in Mason, Ohio and its Grenada Stamping and Assembly plant located in Grenada, Mississippi which recently were recertified.
“During this economic downturn it is important that we continue to invest in our manufacturing facilities and employees in order to achieve the highest level of quality standards for our various customers,” said Paul Bishop, Ice’s President. The international certification Ice Industries achieved comes in addition to the ISO 9001 standard for quality manufacturing and applies to all the precision metal parts and welded and assembled components the company manufactures for the HVAC, appliance, heavy truck, fire safety and automotive industries. Ice purchased the Mexico facility in February of 2008.
“We’re proud of our heritage of quality and delivery in Ice and this is evidenced by both our TS certifications and our commitment to quality through other systems such as Six Sigma,” said Howard Ice, Ice’s founder and CEO. Ice Industries has adopted Six Sigma and lean manufacturing philosophies in all of its plants and, has continued to train new green belt and black belt associates to assist with improving operations. Ice currently has 13 certified Six Sigma Black Belt specialists, who provide systematic problem solving company-wide.
Ice Industries' Mexico location currently manufactures compressor components for the HVAC industry for various customers; and fire extinguisher cylinders in its Mexico plant which is conveniently located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
