AccesStream, a provider of open source security solutions, has released a survey that focuses on open source and identity access management (IAM), which is which is available from its website.
The survey is targeted at organizations of all sizes and is designed to gauge their internal acceptance and usage of open source software and gain a better understanding of their IAM challenges and the solutions they chose to address them.
The survey further explores the affordability of proprietary IAM solutions on the market as it relates to licensing and implementation costs and which organizations are currently priced out of the market. An open source solution is presented to determine whether it presents an appealing alternative.
Representatives from Accesstream indicated that, “Although small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) have many of the same IAM challenges as larger organizations, IAM solutions are typically not affordable to them. Full featured open source IAM solutions such as Accesstream are relatively new to the IAM market and present a appealing alternative not only for SMEs, but also larger organizations. The survey results will help Accesstream better understand the market need and acceptance of open source IAM solutions, which will allow it to better align its product road-map.”
